BIS Registration For Lithium Batteries

Secure a BIS Certification for Lithium batteries because they are one of modern technology’s most popular and valuable products. With the increasing demand for laptops, electronic vehicles, smartphones, and more, it is crucial to ensure that the essential quality and safety standards are met. The government of India has made different schemes under BIS to regulate and certify different products. Lithium batteries are covered under the compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS), which was established by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Registration under BIS Certification for lithium batteries ensures the product meets specific quality and safety standards. Fair competition is also promoted by BIS registration, as all batteries must meet basic standards, and the customers are protected from fake or unsafe products.

What Is BIS Certification For Lithium Batteries?

The  Department of Electronics and Information Technology initiated the CRS scheme in 2012. CRS schemes cover all electronic products, as notified. It applies to both Indian and foreign manufacturers to be able to sell their products in the Indian market. Unlike ISI under the CRS  scheme, there is no requirement for factory or laboratory inspection. A period of 25-30 working days is required to complete the registration process. The purpose of BIS is to protect consumers from low-quality products.  For getting any product registered under BIS, manufacturers have to maintain specific product standards, which in turn improves customer satisfaction.
