How To Apply For BIS CRS Registration?

To get the BIS CRS certification we have mentioned the easiest steps here:

Register On The BIS Portal

First things first! The manufacturer or their authorised Indian representative must sign up on the BIS portal. This registration is crucial because it kicks off the online application process for the BIS CRS Registration Certificate.

Generate Testing Request

Once you’re registered, the next step is to create a testing request for your product. You’ll need to send this request to a BIS-approved lab that you choose. Make sure to pick a lab that specialises in testing the specific category of your product to get BIS CRS certification.

Submit Your Sample For Testing

After generating the testing request, you’ll receive a QR code. This code should be attached to your product sample when you send it to the lab for testing. Don’t forget, you need to submit the sample within 60 days of generating the request. Once the lab accepts it, they’ll acknowledge your registered email.

Apply Online For BIS CRS Certificate

Next up, it’s time to fill out the online application form (Form I) for your BIS CRS Registration. Be sure to upload all the necessary documents along with the test report. Just a heads up—the test report can’t be older than 90 days from your application date. Once you’ve paid the application fee, you’ll get an acknowledgement in your email.

Send Hard Copies Of Your Application

After you’ve completed the online application, you’ll need to send hard copies of everything, including the application form and all supporting documents to the BIS office. This usually includes your test reports and product specifications. Make sure to get these hard copies in within 15 days of your online submission. If you don’t, your application could be closed.

Application Examination

Once BIS receives your hard copies, they’ll carefully review everything to ensure you’ve provided all the necessary info and that your product meets their standards. If they have any questions, they’ll reach out online, and you’ll need to respond promptly. Remember, if there are any issues, it’s up to you to fix them in time to avoid delays.

Receiving Your BIS CRS Registration Certificate

If everything looks good and your product meets the required standards, BIS will issue the CRS License in your name. This license allows you to use the BIS mark on your product, giving you the green light to sell it in the Indian market.
